I am dearly hoping to be reunited with my UK number and replacement BlackBerry (THANK YOU CHLOE AND ABID) imminently – I should have it by the time I leave Beijing (the night of the 9th November), when I set off for Xian, land of the terracotta army, and then Urumqi, land of the Uigher people, and then – fingers crossed, Buddha willing – Kazakhstan by 19th November.
